Dear Folwell Families:
Welcome! As the new Principal, I am excited and eager to meet you. When families and educators are communicating and working together in a partnership for our students, they will achieve success at high levels. The staff at Folwell are dedicated to student success! They are committed to providing differentiated instruction to meet each individual’s needs. With a talented and dedicated staff, engaged and motivated students, as well as caring involved parents, we’ll SOAR to new heights this year!
One of our highest priorities is to maintain a safe school with a positive climate and culture. The outside doors will all remain locked during school hours. When you visit the building, we ask that you enter through door number one, utilizing the buzzer system. An office staff member will greet you and may need to take a minute to verify that you may enter. Upon entering the building, please sign in and wear a visitor’s pass, available in the main office. We will also be working throughout the year to make some changes to our parent drop-off and pick-up routines before and after school. Please watch for specific information regarding parking permits and recommended traffic flow patterns. We hope you agree that any inconvenience is worth the added peace of mind that these measures provide in order to keep everyone safe.
By implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS), we establish and maintain a positive culture and climate for learning. The PBIS framework includes school-wide procedures and processes, intended for all students and all staff, in all settings. It is an approach to creating a safe and productive learning environment where teachers can teach and all students can learn.
